Knowing the unique requirements of Animation Production Studios and Distributors, dax|D3 was designed to speed delivery of production elements, like models, backgrounds, props, animatics and animation. dax|D3 streamlines workflow and collaboration, and incorporates full media asset management capabilities. The system gets creative materials in front of those who need them as quickly as possible, while maintaining the highest levels of security and user access controls available in the market today.

dax|D3 removes the risks and inconveniences of email or FTP; and the associated costs and delays of DVD or tape duplication and couriers. Central management of all elements enables production and creative executives to manage every step throughout the production process. Here is how it works:

Step 1

Upload all Art Work and Production Elements

Upload all materials - once the first draft of the script has been created you are ready to start using dax|D3. You can upload and securely manage the distribution, creative development and approval workflows of the following elements:

  • • Scripts, Storyboards, and Design (Color and Line Art)
  • • Backgrounds, Models, Props, Storyboards
  • • Cuts, Animatics, Animation
  • • Voiceovers, Audio Tracks, Soundtrack and Music Scores
  • • Central management of all documentation, invoices, shipping confirmations, schedules and scripts
  • • Upload all documentation, order forms and schedules for central management and control

User rights and permissions are folder based, and different users can have different rights in each folder - user set-ups can include options such as view only (no download), upload, watermarking, add notes, approve/reject, etc.

Production and art elements can be accessed via any Mac or PC.

Step 2

Securely View and Approve Content in dax|D3

Users can view all design and art files view the dax|D3 Imager Viewer. In the Image Viewer module, you can easily navigate through hundreds of images, compare versions side by side, rotate images, rate images, and zoom in on images. If an approval workflow has been assigned to the media you can view approval status from anywhere in the application. You can also approve media if you have permission.

For Audio and Video Media, users view content in the Screening Room. Authorized users can add notes and comments associated to time code; approve/reject media; create playlists; and create clips. For clips and comments, users can set time code in and out points, or just make a comment at a point in time. All notes can be exported into a document for out of system reference.

Step 3

Media Management & Marketing Workflows

Store all approved materials in one searchable, scalable, secure media repository. View and find all approved and source materials via any Mac or PC attached to the internet. Detailed search capabilities make finding materials easy; and metadata lets you know whats approved and available for use.

Authorized viewers, like marketing or distribution partners, can start selecting clips of their own for marketing applications and assemble clips into playlists that can be used for presentations or creating rough sizzlers.
